                         Goodbye New York



It's here. Time to leave...the day has finally come. After last night's debacle I was a bit ready. This morning a repair man had come and fixed the elevator. We were already packed so all we had to do was just get up and go.



New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 Ivy was all ready and upstairs waiting for me. Her tears were streaming down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her cry, I can't handle it. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 We all gathered around the elevator while we waited for the repairman to finish the the elevator. I knelt down and wiped the tears from my little girls cheeks while trying to hold back my own. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 We all piled into the elevator one last time. Watching the apartment disappear behind the steel doors. This would be the last time we saw our little apartment.. this was harder than I thought.. We don't have a subway at home.. we don't have any of this at home... I'll really miss this city. I can't believe how attached I've become to the city. I truly feel I am leaving a piece of my heart here. To have seen where my parents started their lives, where everything began.. my roots are here. It was real.. goodbye, New York. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 We made it to the airport and my parents were there to send us off with my siblings and godbaby/niece. This was a hard goodbye. There was a lot of tears, 'call me when you land' 'text me when you land' 'I love you's' This was a difficult thing to do. I am not sure when the next time I will see them is. Hopefully, they will fly over and visit us in France. They've not seen the new estate and the grounds yet. I've not even been able to text them pictures as they want a surprise. I tried to watch my family from the window as they waved to us from the terminal.. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 I sat and texted a little bit with my parents as I watched the earth turn into the ocean below.. we would be flying over the open ocean for hours.. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 Soon the sky turned from daylight to evening.. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 Giselle and Ivy took a little nap and I watched the sunset over the ocean. Dreaming of my home but yet still dreaming of New York.. New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 New York City Vacation ~ Day 8 After hours we finally landed in France. It was the early morning hours. The sun was just rising over the mountains. It did feel good to be home. We only needed to pick up our luggage, my car and make the small drive home.. We were all a little silent but once we went through the tunnel and we saw the little village in the distance we knew we were truly home. We slowly got our of the car, our bodies tired and jetlagged.. but we're here. Home.
