Shopping!
We've already been in the city for 4 days and we haven't shopped yet.. how can that even be possible?! There's so much to do and with Ivy's birthday party I guess we just set shopping aside. Well, today's the day! We're going to hit Times Square and see some of the shops! We left just after lunch and brought with us plenty of cash!
We made into one of the shops in a high rise building. We were looking for a few souvenir type items to bring home and of course some post cards to send out. We ended up finding a little shelf with some Statue of Liberty crowns on it, earrings, post cards and even some prints of the city! We all picked out a few things and got in line to pay.. and of course my brother, Corbin used 5 different cards. After we settled up at the registers we took a quiet moment to look down at the big city below. Times square really is something else. Look how amazing it was from up so high. I think we may have bought out the store while we were there. We went to a few other shops and walked about the city some more before deciding we needed to get back to the apartment. I picked up some magazines and local newspapers to read back at home and Ivy got a little juice from a vending machine on the way home. After dinner we all got into our jammies and sat down around the TV upstairs. I brought along the book "Eloise" with us. Now, if you've not read the book - it's about a little girl who lives in the Plaza Hotel in NYC. She gets into lots of trouble. Seemed fitting for our trip and our little girls. Goodnight from NYC ~
