Paris Vacation Day 7 ~ Going Home

It's finally come to an end. It's time to pack our bags and head back home. Our flight leaves in about 4 hours and the girls are still getting their things together. Maelie mentioned that she had something special for all of the girls and handed them each a gift. She had custom dolls made for all of the girls. They even had special Madeline dresses on!

After the girls admired their dolls the all still had to pack. I told them that we needed to get going because we needed to catch our flight. Well, Ivy didn't like that very much and she ran and hid beside the bed. She had started to cry some as she didn't want to leave Paris. I tried to calm her nerves some but she just ran away again and this time.. laid herself down on the floor for a full blown temper tantrum. She laid there kicking, screaming and crying for a good 15 minutes. Giselle, her cousin tried to calm her down and soon became frustrated herself and laid on the bed with her head between the pillows.

Ivy stormed out of the room and ran down the hall. After quickly talking to Giselle about getting her things pack up I chased after Ivy only to find..that she had gotten her head stuck in the railing of the balcony...

I peeked over the railing and I saw that her new Madeline doll had been dropped down over the railing. She must have been looking to see where it went and slipped between the bars..

I wasn't sure what to do at this point. She was crying hysterically. I tried to soothe her and yelled down the hallway for Giselle. Gissy came running to me and I told her she needed to go down to the bathroom and come back with a towel and some soap.

Things were getting worse and the soap and water didn't seem to help. All I could do was dial the emergency number and get the Fire Dept. to come and help us.. so we sat and waited. Trying to sing Ivy some songs to help soothe her until the Fire Dept. was able to get to us.

The fireman was able to rescue Ivy safely from the balcony. She was just fine, a bit shaken up but A-Okay. We snuggled for quite a while and then we had the talk that was now very important that she get her things together and we go home so we could pick up the house and our pets so we could move to France!

We all packed up and stood for one last picture before we left for the airport. Our hearts were full yet a bit sore with the idea of leaving our wonderful Parisian apartment. We'll be back, we'll be back Paris.
