Paris Vacation ~ Day 6
It's our last day in Paris. I had wanted to go and visit a local library I'd seen online before we left. I have a deep love of books. The scent of them, the way the pages sound when you turn the page.. maybe I over romanticize them but.. I just love books. The girls weren't too excited to go into an old smelly library.. but it was the one place I'd really wanted to check out. So, we all piled in the car and made our way over to the library.
When we entered we were all taken back at how beautiful it was. It was old, quite old. The scent of old books was overwhelming. I explained to the girls that they needed to be on their best behavior and keep their voices down but they were free to explore.
Things had quieted down and I was sitting looking through old records in a small corner of the library. I'd remembered that my Husband, Jayson had mentioned once that his family had been in France. While looking through an old record book a small piece of parchment paper fell from the binding and caught my eye.. I'll never forget this moment..
I covered my mouth after a gasp.. I couldn't believe this. Did we really just inherit all of this property and land? I tried to explain it all to the girls.. they didn't quite understand. I tucked the paper into my pocket to bring to a Lawyer and showed my Husband.. this could forever change our lives.
The rest of the afternoon was spent looking for more clues in the library..
We had a lovely afternoon filled with reading and exploring. After a bit of dinner we all went to sea a performance of the Nutcracker Ballet! This is our last night in Paris, what a way to end it with the ballet and finding out we never really have to leave.
After we settled in it was time for a bath in that giant tub. The girls FILLED it with toys and made sure they were squeaky clean for the trip home tomorrow morning.
