Christmas 2011

It's hard to know where to start with our memories. After some careful thinking, I decided to start with Christmas of 2011. This will take multiple posts!

This was my first Christmas in SL. Christmas is a very important time of the year for me. Growing up Christmas was a *big* deal in my house and still is. It was always so magical for me.

Christmas is so many things…I feel most people forget what it’s really about. It’s not about the money, the presents or the stress. It’s first and foremost about the birth of Jesus, and the celebration of his life. Secondly, the spirit of Togetherness, Love, Devotion, Forgiveness, Selflessness, Giving, and Family. People forget this..they are stressed about the perfect toy, the money, the commercialism, the crowds..people grow bitter when they lose sight of what Christmas is about. So just..let go, let the love in. You will find this is the most beautiful time of year..like no other. Nothing even compares the amount of joy and pure awe I have for this time of year. The softness of lights, the lightly falling snow, the smiles, the scent of baked goods, the traditions, the family, the selflessness. There is something that goes off inside of me..I let go..I leave my self wide open, letting the emotions flood in and out.

I wanted to make Christmas in SL just as magical for my daughter.

Christmas begins for me, with the perfect Tree. My little girl Cady and I made the trip in my old truck to the local tree farm to pick out the perfect tree to celebrate our first Christmas together, and my first real celebrated Christmas in SL.

After find the perfect tree (for what seemed like hours, and likely was!) and sawing it down (myself I might add! See, I really AM superwoman!) We loaded the tree into the truck and headed home.
My glorious never fail truck!
We drove home singing carols the whole way there. I tied the tree down to the truck don't worry! ( and it stayed! See, more points for being superwoman. Don't think I will forget this!) We pulled up the the house and it had started to snow already. We had just recently moved into a new home, so this was the perfect thing to bring into our new home. Now comes untying the tree and bringing it inside without breaking any limbs!
Here we are, the tree stayed on!

Here comes the tricky part. Getting it IN the house. I managed to get it out of the bed of the truck with some muscle. Luckily there was a fresh covering of snow to keep the branches from becoming too damaged on the way into the house.
We did it!
Jumping for joy! Welcome Christmas!
With that.. here begins the Christmas season!

Finally, the tree is inside and up! Cady was so excited. Finally our Christmas season can begin!
