The wedding of Grazia Horwitz & Don Mill

The wedding of Grazia Horwitz & Don Mill

The Horwitz-Mill.. now known as the Mill family. Are very dear friends of ours. Grazia and Don are the parents of my niece, Darla.
We were so happy to be able to watch our dear friends marry and celebrate their love. The photo's don't do justice for how beautiful Grazia looked or how handsome Don was. The sim was stunning and the music was   lovely. Beach weddings are always so beautiful and close to my heart - as I am an ocean lover.
I'll let the photo's speak for themselves.

Congratulations, again Don, Grazia and Darla! We love you both so much!
                                                 Love,
                                                    Meg

Ivy's surprise rez day party! ~ Zombie invasion!

Happy Rez Day Ivy!

Ivy's rez day was June 24th, 2008. We knew we wanted to give her a party  - as she has worked so hard for us - we wanted to be sure she was surprised and it would be something she would really love. If you know Ivy at all you know that she LOVES my little pony's and zombies. She's the perfect mix of girly girl and zombie shooting. So, we did not plan her rez day party ON her rez day. We planned it a few days later. We knew that would really surprise her! We teleported her into a skydome with a garden BBQ set up with pony characters, tents and a movie screen ready to go! She took a look around and found...

A dark cave.. what is in there?...

Is it really.. could it be...

A pit filled with ZOMBIES!
When we landed there were bags filled with guns, fog rolling in on the ground.. and odd, eerie sounds int he distance. We had to prepare. They were coming. Who other than Ivy would know what to do? She was our savior! She told us to gear up and start shooting! I didn't get a ton of photo's during the shooting because well.. we were too busy killing zombies!

The zombies start coming, and fast. We all took off and tried various weapons to try and kill them. Ivy was our sharp shooter and Tristan was the one with the fire. We tried our best and worked hard at getting rid of them!

Ivy the sharp shooter!
The heart gun!
We used fire to try to get rid of them
Post fire.. they are STILL coming!

After the flames and fog lifted we got them all .... I think...

Look behind us! UH OH! There's ... one.. more...

After hours of zombie killing and simply trying to survive we worked up a hunger. We came out of the cave and headed to the BBQ and had some dinner. We then sat on the lil bubbles and talked for hours.

I hope you had a beautiful birthday Ivy. I am so proud to be your Mother, and your friend. I am appreciative of everything you have done and will do in the future. You are so incredibly important to me in both RL and SL ~. I love you very much!

                                                                         Love,

Camp HK Auction & Cabin Assignments

Camp HK Auction & Cabin Assignments

Another fun part of getting ready to go off to Camp HK is the camp auction. They have panels set up for bidding on various items - such as a golden ticket to bring your parents to camp for a day, extra prims, picking your cabin color and many more! People usually hang around the sim and dance while they bid on items. The bidding ends in the late afternoon followed by the announcement of the cabins and the winners of the items set for auction.

Here are some photo's from when the sim filled up with people ready to hear their cabins! It gets pretty laggy and slow because so many people are there! It's a fun afternoon!

Getting ready to hear what cabin they are in!

and the winners are...

camp, camp, camp!

Cabin lists!

Camp is so close now! The cabin lists have been made, the colors picked and now the logo's are being started, songs being picked, bunks being mad --  it's almost here!

Camp HK Letter!

Camp HK Letter!

Ivy has been checking the mail box every day, a few days time a day for her camp acceptance letter. The other day she ran out to the mail box and I heard a squeal of delight. She saw an envelope in the box that looked 'special'. She took it out and ran to the house. I could hear her a mile away. "Mommy, Mommy!"

What is this?!

It's here, it's here!
She ran inside and held her letter up - she was so excited!
Look!
She opened her letter happily and held up the brochure and the letter for me to see! We were so happy! She was accepted and going to camp! We will have to pack extra bags this year ~ I'm a counselor. It will be so lovely to be able to see her while at camp. I won't miss out on all of her fun and I will be able to share in her memories!
Yay!

                                  See you guys at camp!
                                                                                   Love,
                                                                                        Meg

Darla's dance recital ~ Graceful Elephant

Darla's Dance Recital

My daughter, Ivy and my niece, Darla are both dancers at Rising Stars Dance Academy. This past week they had dance recital's. Darla has her recital and chose a very beautiful song (posted above) by Rachael Yamagata called - Elephants. She was very nervous before her performance. Ivy and I stood with her and watched the other dancers getting ready. Darla was quiet and working on her routine a bit behind the rows of chairs.
I tried to give her a small pep talk before she went up on stage. I made sure her hair was straight and her elephant ears and nose were aligned just so. With a quick lil kiss to her cheek she was off to preform! Ivy and I scooted up front to get a better view.
Darla up on stage

The End.
After the show she came down to see us. We both gave her a big hug and gave her some pretty white roses we have picked up at the store.

We are so proud of you Darla! You were beautiful on stage! We're so proud of you.

Love,
 Meg/Auntie

Heirloom Poses & RP Props

Heirloom Poses & RP Props

After months of talking, planning and thinking ~ Ivy and I decided to open a store together as a family. We came up on the name Heirloom - just as this blog is a collection of our memories, our Heirlooms. We wanted to have my blog and our store connected. We hope that other families are able to create memories and their own 'heirlooms' with our poses. We hope to bring more creativity to family roleplay. We've decided to re-create and re-build some of the things we have previously blogged here. Please come pay us a visit ~ if you have any pose ideas or custom ones you'd like - please feel free to find me in world - Meg Hadlee.
We are still brand new and ever expanding. Look for the RP sets that we have already posted and more!

I hope to see you soon! Don't forget to join our groups for gifts, events and sales!

                                                              Love,
                                                                   Meg

Camp Hardknock Summer 2012 ~ Sign ups!

Camp Hardknock Summer 2012 ~ Sign ups

Every year, twice a year - there is a camp held by Jill Gilman(Caldera) & Gattz Gilman. They have it in the summer and in the winter. They put a lot into camp for the children and families in the community. It's realistic, fun, creative and a wonderful way for the family community to come together to make memories, friendships and grow together as a whole. With that said -- sign up day is very hectic and a bit stressful for anyone trying to get into camp - as there are limited spots for camp. So in an effort to lag less - we remove all prims, clothing, HUD's and attachments. Ivy made us a beautiful pink skin with a pretty white bow on it! Hey, we still have to be fashionable! Along with pretty pink eyes. We stood on our building platform and danced until the landmark had been given out for us to rush and try to sign her and my nieces up for camp! My Sis and I wore the fun skins as well!

Ivy's bow!
Let's boogie!

Dance, Dance, Dance!
I didn't manage to get into the registration sim, but Ivy did - and all of our friends managed to get signed up for camp! So, I do not have any photo's of the sign up sim for you to see! Please keep your eye out for more camp related posts! I will be blogging each day of camp ( once we get there! )
I am a counselor this year at camp! This is my first time as a counselor ~ although I have been there on my child avatar before. I am looking forward to being a counselor and meeting all of you! I hope to see you all at camp!
